Super Bowl Predictions

After reading through what Josh goes through every year, since Tampa Bay not only destroyed a great team in Oakland but aparently enough to keep them bad for many years there after, i realize that as a Chicago Bears fan I wont be watching Kyle Orton in February. So that leaves me no choice, even though it may kill me, to predict that The Dallas Cowboys will beat The Denver Broncos in this years Super Bowl. Seriously though, who thought that Eastern's own Tony Romo would amount to anything more than a place holder for field goals, and a back up to Drew Bledsoe who is not only washed up but still crying about the 5th round pick, if I am accurate, Tom Brady taking his starting spot who took over the dynasty that Bledsoe should be the QB of. Sorry I rambled....I hate the Cowboys, they always get the good Quarterbacks.

P.S. (If the Raiders play the Bears in this years Super Bowl im throwing a party for the league, Drinks are on Josh.)

Number 85 lets us down

I'm not referring to C. Ocho Cinco either...

Ed "Iron Arms" Hochuli has let me down greatly. The professor missed a call... a huge one that probably ended up costing the Chargers a win. At least he had the cubes to admit that he made a mistake at the end of his dissertation of an explination.

You're still my boy Ed.

group therepy

josh: Hi my name is Josh, I am an Oakland Raider fan.

all: hi josh

josh: Well I guess it started in grade school when i would watch the cartoon show All Sports All Stars and Bo Jackson was my hero.

p1: Oh H#$$ yeah, i remember that sh*& !! Bo Jackson, Wayne Gretsky, and Michael Jordan all out saving the world and telling good life lessons and morals and sh*&. that show was the bomb. for real

josh: ...So yeah now i'm living with this pain of following a pretty consistantly crappy team that keeps loosing it's legends. first Madden can't announce intelligently anymore (maybe he couldn't at all, but hey he does one heck of a tinactin commercial), Howie Long sells his soul to Radio Shack. (curse you Teri Hatcher), and now this season we have to deal with the loss of an Icon in Gene Upshaw. probably one of the biggest stars to come from the Raiders.

leader: let's all take a moment to pause, reflect, and pour out a beer for our homie

josh: So needless to say I probably won't be picking Oakland to win the super bowl this year. but I'm also torn because i cannot pick any other teams. so I came to this group to try and help me with my Raider Nation Pride.

leader: we all stumble sometimes and yes while tempting to rout for the Eagles to win the super bowl we have to stop and say is it worth it to turn our backs on our team?

what to get from this session:
Not everyone cheers for a good team but hey if cubs fans can do it for over 100 years i can handle it for a few seasons or more.
My pick to win this years super bowl is the Philadelphia Eagles
To the man who changed football on every level from player to the pres. of the union Gene Upshaw
oh and by the way if Oakland beats your team this year I will laugh at you and do a little dance
Later, Josh

Tom Brady Out For Season

Knee injury ends Brady’s season

Posted: News | NFL.com Staff | Tags: New England Patriots, Tom Brady

Tom Brady suffered a serious knee injury against the Chiefs that will end his 2008 season, reports NFL Network’s Adam Schefter.

Meanwhile, free-agent quarterback Chris Simms is scheduled to arrive in New England Monday morning for a workout and a physical, Schefter reports. If all goes well, Simms could be a Patriot by the end of the day. Kansas City and Tennessee, each of whom had quarterbacks suffer significant injuries on Sunday, also have contacted Simms.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick had little to add about Brady during his postgame press conference, saying he had no update on the status of the injury and that tests were being done. We now have the video of Brady’s injury.

Brady left Sunday’s 17-10 win over the Chiefs early in the first quarter with a left knee injury and was replaced by Matt Cassel. Brady was injured when he stepped up in the pocket to make a throw, and collided with Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, who was down on the field in front of him. Brady’s left knee buckled as he followed through on his throw, and he went down holding the area immediately below his kneecap.

Brady was helped up off the field, and walked gingerly with the help of trainers to the sideline. He was later led down a staircase into Gillette Stadium by team personnel.

Cassel replaced Brady on the Patriots’ next drive. Brady was 7 of 11 passing for 76 yards before leaving the game. Cassel finished 13 of 18 passing for 152 yards and a touchdown.
